Photo#5 This is where it all started. Just like McCormick and Obed Hussey,
so to did the local blacksmith ply his trade from fixing wagon wheels to
horse shoes. It was in simple shops like these that the reaper, binder and
combined harvester were created and then modified into what we see today,
sailing through seas of dead-ripe wheat while driving down our modern
interstate highways.
